Lyric One. "Not what it seems" by Hannah L. Simns

Curtained room
makes grey and gloom

 in which I'm drowning

can't keep throwing-

Out my chest
 a breath of fresh
air's what I'm wanting
why am I staying?

I don't get it
I resent it
never wanting
what I'm getting!

Am I ornery?
selfish? usually
but maybe that's completely ordinary!-

(music)

For the season
what a stupid reason
 to stand still
while bells ring shrill-

In my ears
with growing fears
and though I'm cold
my blankets folded-

On my bed
beneath my head
yes, even this
seems not what it is...

Can't you see
me never meaning to
bring strife
and yet it's my life
I am ornery!
selfish, usually!
Why am I completely ordinary!?

Yes, even this seems not what it is...

Drawing one.

         "Personality." By Hannah L. Hancock.

An undivided mind is impossible to procure,
A thought without disruption,
To be without blemish, to be pure,
To drift into thoughts of deep satisfaction.

A friend, whom you muse, all of your musing,
Cannot even know all thoughts that you think.
No, so many thoughts, so briefly happening,
Are there and then gone before you can blink.

And some thought escapes you,
You're bewildered to recall
What it was, was it in blue,
It was the best thought of all!

And dreams! Oh dreams...
They find you when weak
And hold you in sleep,
And leave you and grieve you in a state that is bleak.

But still you keep sleeping,
Hoping to find it again,
But always knowing,
That your effort's in vain.

A sorry thing to lose a dream..
And then you awake and you don't remember.
Oh, to re-close your eyes,
And be back in the grandeur!

But back to a muse,
You see I have wondered,
A thought on a thought,
on a thought have I pondered.

I meant to be stating,
A fancy of reflections
A mindful I'm listing,
And now for corrections:

I mean to be free,
Of ambitions to think,
To not know that you're musing,
Your expressions be blank.
